We know that many of you loved the gorgeous Larkin Toads and were extremely disappointed when they went to auction in September 2010. However, you may have noticed that some of the colourful amphibians have remained firmly in their places, or merely relocated to new homes where they can still be admired by passers by.
There are currently 11 toads still on public display (locations listed below) and we have it on good authority that Archi-toad and possibly Maritime Toad will be making a re-appearance in the city centre this year, so keep your eyes peeled.

Larkin with Toads - Revisited!
Larkin25 has published a new report celebrating the impact that the Larkin with Toads project had on local life, and the local economy.
The report, produced with the kind assistance of local communications provider KC, tells the story of this fascinating project, from the initial idea, and the support of the businesses who took the leap to make the project happen, to the artists and organisations who created the spectacular project, to the delight and suprise when the beautiful Toads hit the streets and won the hearts of residents and visitors alike.
The project had significant impacts- well over 120,000 people enjoyed the Toads in their 10 weeks on the streets. Footfall in the city centre increased by 40% and local businesses saw their customers increase by an average of 10.4% - some by as much as 50%. The project attracted new visitors to the city, and the Old Town, Museums Quarter and key arts venues who hosted a Toad all saw their visitor numbers increase.
Every school in Hull and the East Riding was involved in the project, and some took part in an depth arts project which had a range of positive impacts for the young people involved and their school. The event generated an estimated £0.5 million in additional spend in the city, and the same value was achieved by the huge press coverage, with positive headlines championing Hull as a great place to visit.
Larkin with Toads Revisited tells the in depth story of how well loved the Larkin Toads became - and notes that as a result, 90% of people surveyed want to see more public art in the city!
